Our circuit card of directors is responsible for scene Volunteer Canada's strategic direction. The board represents a pan-North American nation perspective on volunteering and civic participation. Collectively they bring a breadth of experience and wiseness that is crucial to the development of fathom organisational policies and maintenance of good governance.

Volunteer Canada is seeking new board and committee members to support an organizational committedness to engage various views to help shape the future of volunteering crossways the country. We specifically welcome applications from individuals in the next under-represented groups: Black, Indigenous, Color, spic-and-span Canadians, LBGQT2S+ and youth.

All board and committee roles are volunteer positions established to support the staff at Unpaid Canada to promote and support voluntarism in Canada. We are seeking four new board members (of 14 members) and there are several biotic community volunteer positions available happening formal board committees: Public Policy and Authorities Relations, Diverseness Equity and Inclusion, and Fundraising.

To ensure liberal geographical histrionics, we are actively recruiting individuals living in the Prairie Provinces, Atlantic Canada, and the North-central, although all are welcome to apply. Furthermore, if you have skills in finance, governing relations, fundraising, or business, we would honey to learn from you.

Board Members

Lisa Mort-Putland - Chair

Lisa Mort-Putland joined Volunteer Victoria Falls As their Executive Managing director in June 2011. Lisa holds a B.A. in Play and a Masters publicly Establishment with a focus happening non-profit management. Prior to working with Volunteer Victoria Lisa was the Development Manager for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria and spent 25 years working and volunteering in the museum and inheritance sphere.

Jackie Hunt - Frailty-Chair

Jackie Hunt is a grooming consultant, biotic community leader and Volunteer Manitoba's Executive Director. She is also the conscientious objector-founder of The Kindred Project, a non-profit organization that provides fair hygiene products for over 300 women in need apiece and every month.

For seven years, Jackie was an electoral official in the RM of Ritchot. She began her involvement with the RM as a counselor and then as the mayor. She believes in the tycoo of irregular communities and help to others, and she has built a strong repute workings with regime, community leaders, organizations and individuals who share those same values.

In her current role as Executive Director, Jackie combines her extensive experience in community conflict and her strong leadership style to set up Volunteer Manitoba every bit the leader and catalyst for engaging all Manitobans.

Kirk Muise  – Financial officer

As Regional V.P., Stage business Financial Services for Alberta and Territories, Kirk leads a team of professionals providing multifaceted financial services and superior advice for business clients.

Through industry specialization, RBC's commercial financial services centres deliver a differentiated client experience. They render a clean range of services to match from each one client's specific needs, from sophisticated cash and Treasury management services, to all forms of credit solutions.

Originally from Nova Scotia, Kirk has concluded 25 years of business enterprise diligence experience and has progressively forward-looking his calling. He has held versatile aged leadership roles across Ocean Canada in Human Resources, Retail Banking, Financial Preparation, and Commercial Financial Services prior to be being appointed to his modern theatrical role in November 2020.

Kirk is a business alumna of Mantle Breton University, and holds his Personal Fiscal Planner designation through the Canadian Securities Institute.  In 2016, he was a recipient of the RBC Leo Award in recognition of his profession leadership.

Kirk has always been very involved in community activities through fundraising and volunteerism, and is shortly helping on Volunteer Canada's Directorate, and is Centennial State-chair of Prostate Cancer's Wake Up Call Breakfast series. A unsound-time supporter of United Right smart, Kirk has successfully chaired multiple campaigns, in summation to having served on the Board as Frailty-Chair.

He and his wife Manon have ii children, Janelle and Dominic aged 13 and 11, and reside in Auburn Bay community.

Jonathan Virginia Wade - Secretary

Jonathan Wade is a non-earnings professional with more than 30 years of experience as a staffer, volunteer, board member, and adviser in gregarious purpose organizations and non-profits. In the live on 15 years as a consultant, atomic number 2 has provided coaching job, training, and professional consulting services to non-profit organizations, Centennial State-operatives, and individuals seeking to start or expand a social enterprise.

Jonathan is currently the Social Entrepreneur in Residency at the IMPACT HUB in Canadian capital, an Innoweave cultural enterprise coach, a facilitator and teacher at social enterprise workshops and trainings, and the of import selling instructor and coach for the Social Enterprise Institute.  He is a CCEDNET member and is active in the Ontario Social Saving Round table. Jonathan is an active volunteer with organizations at the community, regional and national level. He has been a board member and has volunteered for several sr. strategic planning, funding review, and advisory bodies for non-profit organizations, foundations, and co-operatives. He believes strongly in the value and strength of an energetic voluntary sector to improve and sustain the strength of our communities.

Michel Alexandre Cauchon - Member at Macro

Michel Alexandre Cauchon standard a Bachelor of Multi-ethnic Science degree with honors from the University of Ottawa, followed by a Master's degree in Political Science from Laval University ahead working as a Parliamentary Subordinate to a Member of the Theatre of Commonalty. Subsequently, He turned to community of interests where, for nearly 10 years, he worked to improve the surviving conditions of the poor.

In February 2016, he started at the Confederacy of Tennessean Centers of Quebec City (FCABQ) as a national dealings consultant, with a authorization to link up the various actions star up to National Volunteer Calendar week. That same year, atomic number 2 became responsible research and development at the FCABQ, a position He held for two and a uncomplete years, which enabled him to understand the challenges and issues that volunteer centers must face and address.

Rachel Dick - Member at Large

Rachel Hawkshaw is the Elderly Managing director, Social Purpose Business Innovation at Slide Capital, Canada's largest federal credit entry union, and is responsible for a portfolio of business innovation and shift initiatives that swear out to enrich the lives of Canadians.  Rachel has over 15 years of experience in the financial sector in a spacious range of roles including leadership, retail banking, sponsorship and events, volunteer management, community investiture, corporate campaigns, and employee programs.

She currently serves equally the past-Chair of Voluntary Canada's Corporate Community Engagement Council followers two years as Cobalt-Lead and on Sea-coast Capital's Equity, Multifariousness, and Inclusion Council. She holds a point in Communications and a certificate in Public Dealings from Simon Zelotes Fraser University.

Karen Link - Member at Large

Karen in the Executive Director of Unpaid worker Alberta, whose mission is to fortify Alberta's nonprofit sector organizations direct cognition exchange and strategic connections.

Karen is at heart a community constructor.   She has expertise in cross sector collaborative models, partnership brokering, system design, change management and throw direction.

She has volunteered and worked for, with and in the nonprofit sphere for more than 30 years. Her commitment to the sphere is exemplified by the fanlike range of work she does with countless section, corn-fed and domestic nonprofit organizations as well as the fun she has volunteering for many another arts, music and cultural organizations and festivals in the Edmonton region.

Preceptor McRae - Member at Large

Don McRae worked with voluntary groups and charities for ended 30 years with the Union government. Lawrence (Lawrie) Portigal is a native of Calgary and attended the University of Alberta, where he received degrees in Science and Law.  Helium is a retired member of the Alberta Bar.  Lawrence was first employed by the City of Calgary and later was a sr. executive in the coal, electricity and natural gas industries. Helium moved to Richmond in 2002. Saint Lawrence is active in the volunteer sphere and is currently a director and Past President of Volunteer Richmond Information Services; a theatre director and Treasurer of Touchstone Family Association and a managing director and President of Volunteer BC.

Anna Tran  – Member at Large

Anna Tran is the Conscientious objector-founder and Director of Operations of the Parsec Youth Meshing (PYN), a non-profit with a global web of thousands of volunteers. In March 2020, in reply to COVID-related school closures, Anna led her squad to establish a free status online tutoring program to help students with the challenges of online learning, connecting over 500 Canadian students coast-to-coast with volunteer tutors for unrivalled-on-one tutoring. She also launched a free summertime workshop program to provide over 150 workshops to 300+ families crossways Canada, in lieu of the cancellation of summer camps and activities due to COVID-19.

Anna holds a BSc. in Honours Life Sciences from McMaster University and studied Human, Social, and Profession Sciences at the University of Cambridge. She is currently a research associate at McMaster, and has presented her work at various national and international medical conferences. She actively volunteers in a variety of research-related and leadership roles, including in her purpose American Samoa a Climate Natural action Catalyst Team Lead for which she has collaborated with municipal partners and health care organizations to decoct the ecological footprint of local hospitals.

Penelope Rowe  – Member at Large

Penelope M Rowe is CEO of the Biotic community Sector Council, Newfoundland and Labrador - a registered Polemonium caeruleum dedicated to linking social and economic development, strengthening the community sector and promoting volunteerism.

Rowe has spent much of her career in the insurance policy and nonprofit fields property numerous Holy Order-in-Council appointments much equally vice chair of the Social Sciences Research and Humanities Council (the showtime non-faculty member to hold this senior position); carbon monoxide gas-chair of the Canadian Health Network; chair of the NL Workers Compensation Board, and chair of the Social Policy Advisory Committee which developed a policy framework for the NL Government's groundbreaking strategic social plan. Arsenic a military volunteer she has contributed to national and provincial advisory committees and voluntary organizations including the National Executive of the Governor General's Leadership Conference; the Joint Coordinating Committee for the Federal Government - Voluntary Sector Initiative; Ideate Canada's Consultive Commission; the Residential area Panel of the Cooperators Group; and Statistics Canada's Consultatory Group for non-profit search.  Currently on the Boards of the Social Enterprise Council of Canada and the Provincial Council of the Rural Secretariat, she is also a member of Remembrance University's Conception Strategy External Advisory Committee.  She has authored many reports including the Atlantic Ocean Location Written report of the General Survey of Nonprofit and Voluntary Organization and The Leading Interruption: Perception or Realism.

Penelope has an MSc London School of Economics and an honorary doctorate of laws from Memorial University.  Her contributions have been recognized throughout Canada. Named one of Canada's 50 influential women by Chatelaine Magazine and unrivalled of Atlantic Canada's top 50 CEO's by Atlantic Lin Powder store, she is a penis of the Order of Canada cited as a stubborn advocate for the social and worldly well-being of Canadians and a sensation for volunteerism.
